Support or apply to Local Government bodies

In 2025, elections will be held for the bodies of Local Government bodies.

If you are registered in the national territory, you can support or submit the candidacy of a group of voting citizens in your registration area, after validating their identity using the digital mobile key or with the citizen card and respective PIN code, at https://www.portaldacandidatura.mai.gov.pt.

Therefore, if you are a registered voter in the national territory, you can:

a) Support an application proposal that has been registered at https://www.portaldacandidatura.mai.gov.pt.

b) The Citizen Voter Group may submit a candidacy proposal to the bodies of Local Government bodies at https://www.portaldacandidatura.mai.gov.pt, and must indicate the following identifying elements relating to the candidacy:

i. Local Government body or bodies to which you are applying;

ii. Complete and ordered list, containing the name, type and identification document number of effective and alternate candidates;

iii. Name, type, identification document number and address of the representative on the candidacy list;

iv. Name, acronym and symbol of the candidacy of the group of voting citizens.
