Support or submit a candidacy for President of the Republic

In 2026, the Election for President of the Republic will take place.

If you are a Portuguese citizen and are registered in the Portuguese electoral register, in the national territory or abroad, or are a Brazilian citizen with equal political rights status and are registered in the Portuguese electoral register, you can support or submit the candidacy for President of the Republic, after validating your identity using the digital mobile key or with the citizen card and respective PIN code, at https://www.portaldacandidatura.mai.gov.pt.

So, you can support:

a) An application proposal that has been registered at https://www.portaldacandidatura.mai.gov.pt

b) Candidates for President of the Republic can submit a candidacy proposal at https://www.portaldacandidatura.mai.gov.pt, and must indicate the following identifying elements relating to the candidacy:

a) Name and other identification details of the candidate, in accordance with article 15 of the Electoral Law ;

b) Name, type and number of the civil identification document of the representative on the candidate list ;

c) Address of the representative on the candidacy list in accordance with the Electoral Law.
